Master-Pull Recovery Equipment was founded in 1996 by Emil Bjornsson. A commercial fisherman from Iceland, the land of the Vikings. Later, with a desire for exploration, similar to that of his Viking forefathers, Emil packed his bags and moved to the USA, the land of opportunities. He worked in the commercial fishing industry in the frigid Bearing Sea for many years. Due to a severe injury, he was unable to continue fishing and do all things that required heavy labor. Having the survival skills of the Vikings, it did not take long for him to come up with an idea. Instantly, Master-Pull was born. Emil definitely had the knowledge and the experience that was needed for the new company. Using his vast knowledge of ropes from the fishing industry he converted marine-grade products and lines (ropes) into winch lines and tow ropes. He introduced the synthetic winch line to the rock crawling competitions and competitors, now the synthetic winch lines are mandatory to use instead of wire cable in most rock crawling events and competitions. Synthetic winch lines are now commonly used by the off-road community, military and industrial purposes internationally. He must have done something right because today various companies, big and small, are trying to follow in Master-Pull’s foot steps.
