In October 2010, AZLRO introduced their trail leader program. Offering a tremendous opportunity for any member who wishes to grow their skills not only as an off-road adventurer but as a leader and a contributor to the club. To this end, famed offroad trainer Bill Burke was reserved to conduct a Trail Leader training class during three days in January; Friday January 21st through Sunday January 23rd. This is a very intensive training course that focuses on human dynamics, spotting, vehicle platform knowledge, technical theory and off-road driving, skill building for recovery and leadership exercises.
REQUIREMENTS:
- moderate to advanced experienced drivers
- paying members of the club for one year or more
- Have current First Aid/CPR certification
All trail leaders for the 2011 rally must attend the Trail Leader training program. This program will support the 2011 Rally and year round activities of the club. Members who have completed the Trail Leader training are also expected to lead at least one trail per year for the club in addition to leading trails during the Rally.
The original class size is limited to 18 people.
