2014 Gila Challenge

Vehicle-based challenge: geocaching, puzzles & more

For 2014, AZLRO decided to mix it up. Instead of the regular rally format of running trails all weekend, The Gila Challenge featured a whole new spin on vehicle-based get-togethers.

The morning of the challenge, attendees were randomly assigned to 6 teams. Immediately after that, they were handed an envelope that contained over 100 puzzles, clues, waypoints, geo-caches, and riddles to be solved over the next 8 hours. Each challenge successfully completed scored a team points, with more difficult and time consuming challenges receiving more points. 

It was up to the teams to decide which challenges to attempt in order to score the most points and win the inaugural Gila Challenge!
