Dear AZLRO Members,

Per our previous email, we asked club members interested in running for council to step forward by January 2nd. To date, we have 3 members who expressed their desire to serve on the council. Club bylaws require a minimum of 3 council members and shall consist of an odd number of members. However, the concern is that council duties would be quite a bit of work for just 3 council members.

Therefore, we would like to invite any members that are interested in running for council to do so. If you are interested in running, please submit your name by 9pm MST Saturday, January 7th via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If we have 4 nominees OR more than 5 nominees that want to run, voting will start on Sunday January 8th. If the number of candidates stays at 3, or reaches 5 total, those candidates will automatically become the new council members. {jcomments off}

alt More than 1,000 new jobs are to be created by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in the West Midlands.

From BBC.co.uk

The new posts are being created at the company's Land Rover plant in Solihull, where nearly 5,000 people currently work, the firm said.

They are in support of the company's ambition to deliver "40 significant product actions over the next five years".

It said these could include new models or derivatives of existing cars.

Des Thurlby, human resources director at JLR, said: "This is great news for Solihull. We shall be increasing the plant workforce by more than 25%.

Recruitment campaign

"These jobs are well paid with great benefits. We expect to receive many thousands of applications."
