New Addition - 96 Disco was created by AZRVR
Just picked up my first Disco! 96 5spd. Going to drve it around and get a feel for it over the next few days. I just may take it to the rally instead of the RRC.

Pics or it didn't happen, right? We need a smiley that says that.

Here is the new Disco and the Old Rover posted below..I think. If I attached the photos correctly. Now I have a few days to decide which one to take to the rally

Ooooh, tough call...

I'd say the new old Disco. Do it!

That is what i am leaning towards also. Need to replace the serpentine belt and loose the running boards....or replace the alternator on the disco. I think the serpentine belt may be a cheaper fix which would leave me a bit more cash for gas and other goodies :)

I'm confused (nothing new there). The pic of the black truck looks a heck of a lot like a DII and they didn't come out until 99??? Also not sure they had a stick option on the DII over here??

Edit - OK, this is wierd. Those are D1 wheels (larger stud spacings which means D1 axles) and D1 bumper. Hood and grille are hard to tell. But it certainly has at least DII Door handles (maybe doors but certainly door handles), fender, turn signal, repeater, etc.?????

Here is a pic of my 96 5spd D1 for comparison. Its an SD which was the only trim level the stick was available on in 96 so other than the color the 2 trucks should be identical.

Yes indeed, you are correct. This one was originally a 96 D1 and .... so the story I was told is the front clip and rear, plus interior are from an 04...? Salvage title My Disco knowledge is limited so perhaps at the rally a few members can help me decipher the mystery of my frankenstiened Disco

I thought there was something a little strange about the look of it. Good eye ipgregory!

Either way, it looks like a nice rig.

The plot thickens. It is listed as a 95 on the title, the fender trim indicates SE. It also has the dual sun roofs and rear jump seats. Engine is 3.9 with serpentine belt:ahhh:

3.9 Engine would match the 95 Title. Should be a silver plenum (middle, top of the engine) cover with 3.9 on it and it should have a distributor. A 96 or later D1 would be a black cover with 4.0 on it and it should not have a distributor.

Trim level is going to be tricky as part of it may have come with/from the DII (including the fender decals).
