Classic Fuel Tank

2 years 6 months ago #8426 by Glenn P38
Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to put the larger 1994 (23.4 gallon) tank in an older model (such as my 88 with a 20 gallon tank)? That's roughly an extra 50 miles! Don't know anything about the fuel pump etc. I saw online that the larger tank used a differnt fuel filter. Thanks.

You would need the pump, tank, and the right rear fender with all the hardware, as the filler is in a different location. The fuel level sender wiring would need to be moved as the sender is part of the pump instead of being mounted on the side of the tank.

Sounds like a couple of gas cans are the way to go! Thanks James.
