Running away from home

The joy of off-roading. We left Friday afternoon with our AZ Backcountry Adventures book in hand and no clear destination in mind. I was hoping to get down to Mammoth and maybe meet up w/ the group in Tucson, but we got a late start and decided to head toward Box Canyon and Telegraph Canyon trails.
We found a great campsite near Ajax mine ruins for Friday night. Hot dogs roasted over the fire for dinner <!-- s:thumbup: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_1thumb_up.gif" alt=":thumbup:" title="thumbsup" /><!-- s:thumbup: -->
Then on Saturday a fun, beautiful trail ride on Telegraph Canyon trail into Superior. There was a guy at our church who died a year or 2 ago, Eddie Fouts, who was a big off-road adventurer. He was a great, but somewhat rough man (with a toilet seat affixed to the back of his jeep :-) ), but in an interview he spoke of &quot;the bluest skies you could imagine&quot; and I saw skies that reminded me of that.
Best of all, my wife enjoys it almost as much as I. Here is her facebook posting:

Sorry, I'm a facebook novice. I think I can't share a photo on somebody else's wall - or rather other's can't view unless they are friends.
The pic wasn't much (just me by the fire), but the members of this community would have appreciated the comments.
Somebody commented that his idea of &quot;running away from home&quot; was going to a resort.
To which my wife replied: &quot;...guess how many other people we saw once we went off road? Zero. No One. I guess that's the difference between camping and a resort. Plus we got to make a fire. Plus the moon was insane!!!! Plus it was so quiet, you couldn't hear anything! Except a hoot owl. And some crickets.&quot;

That is the way we think, too. The best camps are the ones where we are alone.
