So, who all is attending this clean up event next Saturday? Let's get a good Rover contingent together to show our support.

Sorry Rob, can't make it, will have to be under the truck wrenching before the wheel falls off... :)

No worries Ian. Hope the damage was self induced on a trail and not something more mundane....

Give a shout if you need an extra set of hands. I'm free on Sunday if you'd like some help.

Hi Rob,

Thx for the offer but I am waiting on parts right now and don't expect them all to be in by the weekend. Gonna strip it down and clean it up this weekend then fit the new bits next Sat hopefully so as to do the Box Canyon Run Sun.

Yes, self-inflicted. My Pass front swivel is hanging off. Have a 1/4" gap at the bottom between the swivel and axle flanges. Not trusting the swivel as it had the living cr@p beat out of it on Sunday (Went up and down Sutherland 3 times. Twice heavily loaded and at speed) and I don’t want it to crack on me later. Swivel, bolts, seals, bearings, etc., are all on order. Won’t know until I strip it down if the axle flange is damaged but I don't think so. Be pulling and fitting my spare axle casing if it is and that will put me out for longer.

What is scary is that I drove home 100 miles on the freeway Sun night at 75-80 with the front wheel like that and didn’t know until I got home and looked under the truck to see why the steering felt 'funny'.

We picked up nine trash bags of rubbish from the location that we cleaned up. Amazing amount of trash. It looked like a war zone with shell casings everywhere. I had never seen anything like it before.

One of the favorite targets of shooters seems to be small stuffed animals - children's toys. They fired a bazillion shots with their guns and left the blown up stuff everywhere.

Twenty-thousand pounds of rubbish removed according to those who know about such things.

It was well worth the time.
