Woodpecker Mine Trail Run
This is a challenging trail in the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. It will test the capabilities of your car and driving skills. There is plenty to see as well, we will stop and look at petroglyphs, old mining operations and mine shafts.
This trail requires a modified Land Rover. The requirements are working low range, rock sliders and off-road tires.
We will be meeting at 830am at the Chevron in Gold Canyon and leaving at 9:00am sharp. For the folks in Tucson we will be meeting at the Cotton Wood Canyon Rd entrance at 930am.
Trail follows a normally dry creek bottom with large boulders and solid rock obstacles. Squeeze through narrow rock openings. Lockers and high ground clearance required. Extreme obstacles can be bypassed. Flash floods possible. Difficult part of the trail is just 2.3 miles but can take a while if lots of vehicles are spotted through difficult sections.
