Mogollon Rim Camping
Join us as we take a couple of days and just cool off and RELAX while soaking in the majestic views overlooking one of Arizona’s most spectacular areas! We will begin our journey Friday afternoon with a meetup north of Payson at the 87/ Rim Rd junction at 1:00pm and head down the (extremely easy… go ahead and bring the station wagon!) trail to our amazing camp site (tbd, since it’s difficult to guarantee a site on the holiday weekends- but we will be updating this site with the GPS coordinates when we have firmed it up!) where we will sit and enjoy the peace and quiet until our hearts are content. There will be smores by the campfire, good company, plenty of Rover talk and Saturday Craig will be cooking up one of his famous smoked pork shoulders for all to enjoy! (yes, the same amazing recipe that took the AZLRO BBQ by storm as a last minute write in entry!) Feel free to wander and enjoy the hiking/ biking or take a drive and explore some of the local forest, or just sit and soak in the atmosphere. We will head out Sunday towards Woods Canyon Lake where you can head back home, or hang out and enjoy the water for a while if you are so inspired! Of course, you are welcome to camp until Monday and beyond if you’d like, (up to 14 days!) Don’t worry if you’re going to be late, we will be sure to share our location so you can just join us whenever your schedule allows!
